Privacy Policy

Location

If you choose "Use current location", your browser or mobile operating system asks for your permission. Your current location is sent to Add Oil's server and used to search nearby fuel prices for that request. You can use postcode or place search instead if you do not want to share live location. Add Oil does not request background location.

Searches

Add Oil does not sell personal data. The app sends the location or postcode you search for to its server so it can find matching fuel prices. Add Oil does not build a personal profile from your postcode or search history.

Saved locations

Saved locations are stored only in your browser using local storage on the web or in mobile app storage on your device. Add Oil does not require an account, email address, or server-side profile to remember them. You can save up to three named locations, remove individual locations, or clear them all from the search experience.

The saved details are the postcode or place label, optional place reference, fuel type, search radius, selected brands, and saved dates. Local saved searches are kept for up to 180 days. If you use current location, Add Oil will not save exact GPS coordinates.

Analytics and Cookies

The website uses Vercel Web Analytics and PostHog to understand page views and deliberate product events such as searches, saved-location actions, and direction clicks. Broad interaction autocapture, heatmaps, dead-click capture, automatic exception capture, and replay console logs are disabled. The first mobile release does not include advertising or third-party product analytics. Website analytics providers may process basic browser, device, IP address, page-view, and event information to provide those reports.

PostHog session replay is disabled, so Add Oil does not record videos or reconstructions of individual browsing sessions. Deliberate product events record only coarse details needed to measure the search-to-navigation journey, such as fuel type, radius, result count, station rank, and navigation provider. Query strings and URL fragments are removed from analytics URLs. Analytics events also remove location fields and redact UK postcodes as an additional safeguard. Add Oil does not use analytics to sell information about individual users.

Data Sharing

Search requests may be processed by hosting, mapping, analytics, and fuel data providers that are needed to run the app. Add Oil does not sell your personal data.
